Its Official: Its Spring Day!!!

I don't exactly know about other parts of the world but here in Africa, particularly Southern Africa, Winter is gone and so are those puffed up jackets, scarves and ear muffs!! Today is the 1st of september, the unofficial official day to mark the beginning of spring! So, instead of a pinch and a punch for the first day of the month, how about you get a bucket of water/ hose pipe and just pour/sprinkle somebody with it as you welcome them into the new season in style!!

Time to get wet and wild, people!!!

Tis the season to be Jolly...

Only a few days left till the end of August, but most exciting, till the end of Winter!!! Yes, people...spring is jetsetting to our side and we best prepare for it in style (If you know what i mean)! In Spring, less is more and its time to clean out that closet off them winter knits and prepare to pack it with those awesome shorts and kraftan tops!!

How about we trade in those bright alerting colours and stockings...

For something short, chic and floral..

Or stack away those snuggly uggs and boots we got...

And bring out those sassy sandles and killer wedge

And let's bid Adieu to those Real/Faux fur coats and jackets...

And say bonjour to vests, funky tops and all things awesome...

Don't forget to ditch those beanies and scarves for sun glasses and killer accessories!! Make a statement as you step into the floral season this year....just make sure you don't get poured with a bucket of water!!!

HAPPY SPRING!!

My equation of Life

Life is beautiful but it's also a b*tch (excuse my french)! If we take it too seriously, we loose out on the fun of it and if we take to lightly, well, we loose out on the seriousness of it!! That's just how crazy everything works around here...but lately i've discovered this awesome equation, very simple actually and i'm sure you'll get it too!!

LIFE = ADIDAS + NIKE.....LIFE = IMPOSSILE IS NOTHING SO JUST DO IT!!

I am woman...hear me ROAR!!!

Before I begin, lets first define a female.
Fe- is known to be the symbol of Iron in the periodic table of elements
Male- is commonly known as a man
Therefore the definition of a female is: Iron man
August is a very special month in South Africa. This is the month that we commemorate and honor the ''iron men'' that have dedicated their lives to what we know today as the rainbow nation. But i don't want to just focus on  South African Women but Women in General!

As a young woman myself, I've always wanted to walk in the shoes of other women...women who have sacrificed and contributed so much to society and have encouraged young people, male and female, to pursue and fulfill their dreams...to become better people and contribute to the betterness of this world. Great women such as:

Maya Angelou
One of America's best poet's and Authors. What I love about Maya is that she's not getting any younger but she has never deprived herself of any moment that life had to give to her! She has the spirit of a young person
Princess Diana
Married to the British Royal Family, Diana had not only inherited the title of Princess of Wales but she was also bestowed with numerous expectations from the Royal Family. Through it all, the mess and media, Diana was always humble! Never did she loose herself or her values...she truly was the People's Princess
Alice Walker
Alice Walker is an American Activist, poet and Author. She is best known as the author of the Award winning book, The Color Purple. Alice had a bad childhood and was mute for a long time. I respect her for having the courage to break free and speak out!

Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf
Liberia's 24th and current president and Africa's first female head of state. Who would've known that a girl born out of povery would soon become one of Africa's greatest leaders?! Traditionally, it is forbidden for women to work or do anything that a man is supposed to do. Some countries still abide to that rule even today but Sirleaf is an excellent example of how women are capable of doing anything that they put their minds to.

The role of women in our society is very important for we have a lot to give. Bieng a woman is not just only about enduring harships or bieng a mother, sister or friend...Its about enjoying the journey of womanhood and about bieng the Iron Man we always have been and always will be. Last year during the elections of our residence house committee, a friend of mine opened her speech with the saying: ''when you want something to be said, ask a man...when you want something to be done, ask a WOMAN!!''

Happy woman's month, South Africa!!
To all South African women and all women around the world, You are appreciated!!
